PROTECTION OF CUSTOMERS’ PERSONAL DATA AND PRIVACY
1. Confidentiality Principles
HAGA Smartech respects privacy and is committed to protecting customers’ personal information, data, and accounts throughout the purchase and sale, intake, inspection, warranty, repair, and delivery of devices.
HAGA only collects, uses, stores, and shares information to the extent necessary for purposes that have been communicated to and consented to by the customer, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
2. Backing Up Data Before Handover
Customers are advised to back up important data before handing their devices over to HAGA, including photos, videos, contacts, documents, messages, and other personal data.
Certain technical procedures, such as factory resets, operating system reinstallation, replacement of storage components, or software troubleshooting, may result in data loss. HAGA will explain the risks and obtain the customer’s confirmation before carrying out any procedure that may delete or alter data.
3. Access to and Handling of Data
HAGA employees must not access, copy, forward, use, or disclose customers’ photos, videos, documents, messages, passwords, or personal data without authorization or beyond what is necessary and appropriate for the work.
When access to a device is required for troubleshooting, technicians must limit their actions to the assigned work and use only the applications or functions necessary to address the issue.
4. Data Deletion, Account Sign-Out, and Device Restoration
Data deletion, signing out of iCloud, Google, Samsung Account, or Microsoft accounts, disabling security locks, performing a factory reset, or reinstalling the operating system may only be carried out when necessary for device inspection, repair, or handover, and after the customer has been appropriately informed and has confirmed.
Whenever possible, customers will be guided to complete account authentication themselves. HAGA will not use customers’ login credentials for purposes outside the scope of the work.
5. Taking Photos, Recording Videos, and Keeping Device Records
HAGA may take photos or videos of a device’s external condition during intake, packaging, delivery, collection, and handover to document its condition, protect both parties’ interests, and address any complaints that may arise.
Documentation must be limited to what is necessary. HAGA will not proactively photograph, open, or retain personal content stored inside a device as evidence of its external condition.
If it is necessary to document a displayed screen or content that may contain personal information, HAGA will prioritize methods that minimize data exposure and will proceed on an appropriate basis in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
6. Responsibilities and Reporting Concerns
Customers are requested to notify HAGA immediately if they detect signs of unauthorized access, device loss, or any incident involving personal data.
HAGA will receive the report, investigate the matter, and take appropriate measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Each party’s responsibilities will be determined based on the actual cause, the commitments agreed upon, and applicable laws and regulations.
